SocietyServe (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates a hyperlocal marketplace platform that connects tenants with home service providers within apartment communities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile applications and website (collectively, the “Platform”).
By using SocietyServe, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Phone number, full name, flat/apartment number, building name, and society name.
- Profile Information: Profile photo, service preferences, and communication preferences.
- Provider-Specific Information: Government ID proof (for verification purposes), service categories, availability schedule, and pricing.
- Payment Information: Payment details processed through Razorpay. We do not store your full card numbers or bank account details on our servers.
- Communications: Messages, reviews, ratings, complaints, and community posts you submit through the Platform.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, time spent on the Platform, and interaction patterns.
- Location Data: With your consent, we may collect your approximate location to match you with nearby service providers and societies.
- Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens to deliver notifications about bookings and updates.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Service Matching: To connect tenants with appropriate, verified service providers within their apartment society.
- Account Management: To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and associate you with your society.
- Payments: To process booking payments, manage provider earnings wallets, and handle refunds.
- Communication: To send booking confirmations, reminders, service updates, and community notifications via push notifications and SMS.
- Trust & Safety: To verify provider identities, moderate community content, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud.
- Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our Platform, features, and user experience.
4. How We Share Your Information
- With Service Providers/Tenants: When you make a booking, we share relevant information (name, flat number, service details) between the tenant and provider to facilitate the service.
- With Society Admins: Society administrators can view member information for verification and community management purposes.
- Payment Processors: We share transaction data with Razorpay to process payments securely.
- Service Providers (Third-Party): We use Firebase (push notifications), MSG91 (SMS/OTP), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), and Sentry (error tracking) to operate the Platform.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Railway and Supabase. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Encrypted database connections
- JWT-based authentication with refresh token rotation
- Rate limiting and input validation on all API endpoints
- Secure file uploads via pre-signed URLs (Cloudflare R2)
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate personal information through the app.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data through the “Delete Account” feature in the app. Note that some data may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.
- Data Export: Request an export of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw Consent: Opt out of push notifications or location services through your device settings.

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for up to 180 days for legal compliance, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention. Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
8. Children's Privacy
SocietyServe is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via SMS. Your continued use of SocietyServe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
